Article of Faith 2

We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's Transgression.

We all will be accountable for our own sins.  In the Bible, the children is not accountable for their parents' crimes, nor is the parents responsible for their children's crimes if they taught their children the right way.  We are not punished for what Adam did.  What Adam did is his own transgression.  What we do now, is our own responsibility.  We do not carry the responsibility for the Fall.

We shouldn't look upon what Adam did as a terrible thing.  We should look upon it as a blessing.  Adam fell so that men may have joy.  We are to be thankful that they made the choice.  Otherwise we never would've been born.  We would've still dwelt in the Spirit World if Adam didn't make the choice to partake of the fruit so that we can receive our mortal bodies.

I've been asked the question before I came to Rochester.  That question involves whether Adam and Eve was capable of multiplying before they partook of the fruit.  The answer is no.  Before they transgressed, they was incapable of having children.  Because their bodies is unchangeable.  Plus they had no knowledge of how to do so.  To put it simply their bodies is stuck at the same state and couldn't be changed for anything.  When they partook of the fruit, their bodies became changeable so they can have children.  According to Genesis 3:16, the Lord told Eve that her sorrows will be greatly multiplied and she will be able to conceive.  Before that, she couldn't.  This answers the question that have been asked of me.  It's a blessing that they took of the fruit even though we are facing a lot of hard times now, but they're for our own good.
